The short answer: professional corporate headshots in NYC run $100 per person for teams (2 retouched images each, dropping to $80 per person for teams of 10–20), $350 for a dedicated executive session with 20 post-produced images, and $7,500 for a full marketing photography day covering team, culture, office, and product in ~50 finished images. The wider NYC market ranges from $150 to $600+ per person depending on who's holding the camera.

Headshot pricing is one of the most opaque corners of commercial photography — quotes for "the same thing" vary by 4x. Here's what the tiers actually mean, with my real rates as the reference point.

Team headshots: $80–$100 per person

The bread-and-butter product: consistent, current headshots for everyone, shot at your office or a studio. My rate is $100 per person including two retouched images each, with teams of 10–20 dropping to $80 per person and larger teams custom-quoted. The word that matters is consistent — same lighting, same background treatment, same crop across every face, so your team page looks like one company instead of a collage of LinkedIn imports. Each person needs about ten minutes in front of the camera, so a 15-person team wraps in a morning.

Executive sessions: $350

A focused session for founders and executives who need more than one usable frame: 20 post-produced images with professional retouching, shot at your office or a studio, delivered with LinkedIn, bio, and press-ready crops. This is the session to book before a fundraise announcement or press push — journalists ask for high-res portraits on short notice, and "we'll find something" is how teams end up cropping a wedding photo.

The full marketing shoot: $7,500

When the whole website needs photography — team, candid culture, office, product, and detail shots — a full shoot day delivers ~50 fully post-produced images with complete commercial licensing, a shot list built against your brand strategy, and web-optimized delivery. Per image, it's the most efficient tier by far, and it's the difference between a site that looks like your company and a site that looks like a template. Why real team photos outperform stock is its own article.

Why NYC quotes range from $150 to $600+ per person

The low end is usually volume studios: fast, formulaic, fine for a badge photo. The high end is established portrait specialists with studio overhead. The middle — where working commercial photographers live — buys you direction (most people don't know their angles; the photographer's job is to find them), real retouching rather than a filter, and consistency across a whole team. FAQ

How long does a team headshot session take?
About ten minutes per person once the setup is dialed in. A 10-person team is done in under two hours; a 30-person team in a morning with a schedule so nobody waits around.

Office or studio?
Office wins for convenience and participation — people actually show up when the camera comes to them. A window-lit conference room or a clean wall is all a pro needs.

What does retouching include?
Skin cleanup, stray hairs, color and exposure — not plastic skin. The goal is you on a good day, not someone else.

How often should headshots be updated?
When they stop looking like the person — practically, every 2–3 years, plus new-hire sessions a couple of times a year to keep the team page complete.

Do we get usage rights?
My rates include full commercial licensing — website, LinkedIn, press, ads. Always confirm this line on any quote; "personal use only" surprises happen.
